Here we believe that native lives matter, black lives matter, love is love, no human is illegal, women’s rights are human rights, kindness rocks and both science and climate change are real. If that didn’t chase you off, you are probably in the right place.
What we bring to the conversation…
We are privileged to offer you stories about the kaleidoscope of human experiences with realistic characters grappling with the challenges of both the best and worst of who they are and could be. They often experience unexpected or unintended results as they find the courage to be vulnerable and authentic.
In the coming months and years, we will also offer non-fiction books about conservation, sustainability, mindfulness, natural health and healing, natural beauty, and minimalism to name just a few of the topics we are passionate about.
We will also have a small selection of positive spirituality – meaning whatever name you choose to use for spirit, it loves everybody. By everybody, we mean everybody, with no one and nothing left out.
Heck, we’ll even offer some t-shirts and other items that can be fun ways to express yourself.
2020 and beyond
2020 has been a tough year in many ways and it’s not over yet. It has brought essential issues of equality to the foreground with both the coronavirus as well as the murder of George Floyd and the protests the tragedy inspired. When bad news and the things that divide us feel overwhelming please remember that America has her faults and flaws, like any nation and like each of us. I think right now we need to remember, more than ever, no matter the side we may be on in any divide we are all Americans. We have to talk to each other, and listen to each other to find solutions we can all live with. We are still a young country struggling to live up to the potentials set before us by our governing doctrines. We have overcome much, risen to and surmounted great challenges and I believe we will continue to rise, to better ourselves and each other. We will inch by inch, conversation by conversation, action by action, right ourselves from this dangerous polarization. We will live up to the promise of America by working together, all of us together, towards the government of the people, by the people, for the people it was always meant to be. (All the people, with no one and nothing left out, no matter what.)
Here is where the inspiration and uplifting come in, we hope.
That is some of what is behind our desire to uplift and inspire, especially in today’s world. I truly hope you can keep the passion and desire for change and let go of the anger. It hurts you much more than anyone else. It’s challenging, hard, or downright impossible, depending on the minute and the day, to stay out of the resist mindset. Please try to remember what you resist, persists. Let’s get excited about the possibilities. Let’s not fight too much with a past that has already happened, let’s make sure that the future is better. Let’s not react to hate, fear, and anger, with the same. As Einstein says, “We can’t solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.” Feel the anger, then let it go. Love is what we are crying out for in this country and in this world. The planet itself is crying out in not so subtle ways for more love. It is my deepest heartfelt desire that the stories and books we offer can help you find laughter, love, and the courage to hope.
All the best,
Kelly, Kirtideva and S3
